(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدُ بْنُ أَبِي أَيُّوبَ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ ، عَنْ أَبِي سُلَيْمَانَ اللَّيْثِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، أَنَّهُ قَالَ : " مَثَلُ الْمُؤْمِنِ كَمَثَلِ الْفَرَسِ عَلَى آخِيَّتِهِ ، يَجُولُ ثُمَّ يَرْجِعُ إِلَى آخِيَّتِهِ ، وَإِنَّ الْمُؤْمِنَ يَسْهُو ثُمَّ يَرْجِعُ إِلَى الْإِيمَانِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: The example of a believer and faith is like that of a horse tied to its stake; the horse wanders around and then returns to its stake, and similarly, the believer wanders around and then returns to faith.
