(حديث مرفوع) قَرَأْتُ عَلَى عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ : مَالِكٌ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي صَعْصَعَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ ، أَنَّ رَجُلًا سَمِعَ رَجُلًا يَقْرَأُ قُلْ هُوَ اللَّهُ أَحَدٌ يُرَدِّدُهَا مِنَ السَّحَرِ ، فَلَمَّا أَصْبَحَ جَاءَ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَذَكَرَ ذَلِكَ لَهُ ، وَكَانَ الرَّجُلُ يَتَقَالُّهَا ، فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ إِنَّهَا لَتَعْدِلُ ثُلُثَ الْقُرْآنِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Saeed (may Allah be pleased with him) that once a person heard another reciting Surah Ikhlas repeatedly throughout the night. In the morning, he went to the service of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and mentioned this matter, thinking that it was a small thing. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "By Him in Whose hand is my soul, it is equal to one third of the Qur'an."
