Hadith 11292

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ ، أَخْبَرَنَا أَبُو الْأَشْهَبِ ، عَنْ أَبِي نَضْرَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ ، قَالَ : رَأَى النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي أَصْحَابِهِ تَأَخُّرًا ، فَقَالَ : " تَقَدَّمُوا فَأْتَمُّوا بِي ، وَلْيَأْتَمَّ بِكُمْ مَنْ بَعْدَكُمْ ، لَا يَزَالُ قَوْمٌ يَتَأَخَّرُونَ حَتَّى يُؤَخِّرَهُمْ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saw the companions (may Allah be pleased with them) staying behind, so the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "You should come forward and follow me in prayer; those behind will follow you. For people will continue to stay behind until Allah will put them at the back on the Day of Resurrection."
