Hadith 11251

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ زَيْدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا بِشْرُ بْنُ حَرْبٍ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ أَبَا سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيَّ : يَقُولُ إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَهَى عَنِ الْوِصَالِ ، قَالَ : فَقِيلَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ : فَمَا لَكَ أَنْت تَفْعَلَهُ ؟ قَالَ " إِنِّي لَسْتُ كَأَحَدِكُمْ ، إِنِّي أُطْعَمُ وَأُسْقَى " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade fasting continuously without breaking the fast (wisal). The companions said, "O Messenger of Allah! You fast continuously like this?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "In this matter, I am not like you. I spend the night in such a state that my Lord Himself feeds and gives me drink."
