(حديث قدسي) حَدَّثَنَا حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَلَمَةَ ، أَخْبَرَنَا سُلَيْمَانُ بْنُ بِلَالٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ نَهَارٍ الْعَبْدِيِّ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَهُ يُحَدِّثُ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " إِنَّ اللَّهَ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى لَيَسْأَلُ الْعَبْدَ يَوْمَ الْقِيَامَةِ ، حَتَّى يَقُولَ : مَا مَنَعَكَ إِذْ رَأَيْتَ الْمُنْكَرَ تُنْكِرُهُ ؟ ، فَإِذَا لَقَّنَ اللَّهُ عَبْدًا حُجَّتَهُ ، قَالَ : يَا رَبِّ ، وَثِقْتُ بِكَ ، وَفَرِقْتُ مِنَ النَّاسِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: On the Day of Resurrection, Allah Almighty will ask the servant, "When you saw a sinful act being committed, why did you not stop it?" Then the one to whom Allah grants an argument will say, "O Lord! I hoped for Your forgiveness but I was afraid of the people."
