Hadith 11244

(حديث قدسي) حَدَّثَنَا حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو سَلَمَةَ ، أَخْبَرَنَا لَيْثٌ ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ الْهَادِ ، عَنْ عَمْرٍو ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يَقُولُ : " إِنَّ إِبْلِيسَ ، قَالَ لِرَبِّهِ : بِعِزَّتِكَ وَجَلَالِكَ لَا أَبْرَحُ أُغْوِي بَنِي آدَمَ 56 مَا دَامَتْ الْأَرْوَاحُ فِيهِمْ ، فَقَالَ اللَّهُ : فَبِعِزَّتِي وَجَلَالِي لَا أَبْرَحُ أَغْفِرُ لَهُمْ مَا اسْتَغْفَرُونِي " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: Satan said, "O Lord! By Your honor, I will continue to mislead Your servants as long as their souls remain in their bodies." And the Lord of the worlds said, "By My honor and majesty! As long as they keep seeking forgiveness from Me, I will continue to forgive them."
