(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبِي ، وَعَفَّانُ ، قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَارِثِ ، حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جُحَادَةَ ، حَدَّثَنِي الْوَلِيدُ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْبَهِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " تَكُونُ أُمَرَاءُ تَلِينُ لَهُمْ الْجُلُودُ ، وَتَطْمَئِنُّ إِلَيْهِمْ الْقُلُوبُ ، وَيَكُونُ عَلَيْكُمْ أُمَرَاءُ تَشْمَئِزُّ مِنْهُمْ الْقُلُوبُ ، وَتَقْشَعِرُّ مِنْهُمْ الْجُلُودُ " ، قَالُوا : أَفَلَا نَقْتُلُهُمْ ؟ قَالَ : " لَا مَا أَقَامُوا الصَّلَاةَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Soon there will be rulers over you with whom hearts will be content and bodies will be gentle towards them. After that, there will be rulers with whom hearts will be uneasy and bodies will tremble. A man asked, "O Messenger of Allah! Should we not fight against such rulers?" The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "No, as long as they establish prayer."
