It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Sa'id Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) declared Madinah Munawwarah as a sanctuary, prohibiting the cutting of trees or the shedding of their leaves between its two boundaries.
