Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that once we feared that strange and unusual events might occur after the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). So we asked the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) about this. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "A Mahdi will come in my Ummah who will remain for five, seven, or nine years. During that time, Allah Almighty will send abundant rain from the sky, the earth will not withhold any of its vegetation, and wealth will become plentiful. To the extent that a man will come to the Mahdi and say, 'O Mahdi! Give me, grant me something,' so he (the Mahdi) will fill his clothes with as much as he can carry, filling them with his own hands."
