(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ ، عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ عُبَيْدَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ السُّلَمِيِّ ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، قَالَ : كُنَّا جُلُوسًا مَعَ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي جَنَازَةٍ ، أُرَاهُ قَالَ : بِبَقِيعِ الْغَرْقَدِ ، قَالَ : فَنَكَتَ فِي الْأَرْضِ ثُمَّ رَفَعَ رَأْسَهُ ، فَقَالَ : " مَا مِنْكُمْ مِنْ أَحَدٍ إِلَّا وَقَدْ كُتِبَ مَقْعَدُهُ مِنَ الْجَنَّةِ وَمَقْعَدُهُ مِنَ النَّارِ " ، قَالَ : قُلْنَا : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، أَفَلَا نَتَّكِلُ ؟ قَالَ : " لَا ، اعْمَلُوا فَكُلٌّ مُيَسَّرٌ " ، ثُمَّ قَرَأَ : " فَأَمَّا مَنْ أَعْطَى وَاتَّقَى وَصَدَّقَ بِالْحُسْنَى فَسَنُيَسِّرُهُ لِلْيُسْرَى وَأَمَّا مَنْ بَخِلَ وَاسْتَغْنَى وَكَذَّبَ بِالْحُسْنَى فَسَنُيَسِّرُهُ لِلْعُسْرَى سورة الليل آية 5 - 10 " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) that one day we were sitting with the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) waiting for a funeral (the blessed hand of the Prophet, peace be upon him, held a stick) with which he was scratching the ground. After a short while, he raised his head and said: "The abode of every one of you—whether Paradise or Hell—is present and determined in the knowledge of Allah." The noble Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) asked: O Messenger of Allah! Should we not rely on this? He said: "Continue to do deeds, for everyone will find it easy to do the deeds for which he was created." Then the Prophet (peace be upon him) recited this verse of the Qur'an: «﴿فَأَمَّا مَنْ أَعْطَى وَاتَّقَى ، وَصَدَّقَ بِالْحُسْنَى ، فَسَنُيَسِّرُهُ لِلْيُسْرَى﴾ [الليل : 5-7]» "As for him who gives, fears (Allah), and affirms the best (truth), We will surely ease him toward ease."
