Hadith 11090

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الزُّبَيْرِ ، حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامٌ يَعْنِي ابْنَ سَعْدٍ ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ ، أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عُمَرَ فَتَحَ خَوْخَةً لَهُ ، وَعِنْدَهُ أَبُو سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيُّ ، فَخَرَجَتْ عَلَيْهِمْ حَيَّةٌ ، فَأَمَرَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ بِقَتْلِهَا ، فَقَالَ أَبُو سَعِيدٍ أَمَا عَلِمْتَ أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " أَمَرَ أَنْ يُؤْذِنَهُنَّ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَقْتُلَهُنَّ " .
Zaid bin Aslam, may Allah have mercy on him, says that once Abdullah bin Umar, may Allah be pleased with him, opened his window, and a snake came out from there. At that time, Abu Saeed Khudri, may Allah be pleased with him, was also sitting there. Ibn Umar, may Allah be pleased with him, ordered the snake to be killed. Upon this, Abu Saeed, may Allah be pleased with him, said, "Do you not know that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, has commanded that they should be warned before being killed?"
