(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ عَجْلَانَ ، حَدَّثَنِي عِيَاضُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ ، قَالَ : كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلّم " يُحِبُّ الْعَرَاجِينَ يُمْسِكُهَا فِي يَدِهِ ، فَدَخَلَ الْمَسْجِدَ ، فَرَأَى نُخَامَةً فِي قِبْلَةِ الْمَسْجِدِ ، فَحَتَّهَا بِهِ حَتَّى أَنْقَاهَا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Saeed Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) used to like the branch of a date palm very much and would hold it in his hand. Once, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) entered the mosque and saw spit or nasal discharge on the qiblah side of the mosque. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) cleaned it with that stick.
