Hadith 11023

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا هَاشِمٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا لَيْثٌ ، حَدَّثَنِي ابْنُ شِهَابٍ ، عَنْ عُبَيْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُتْبَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ ، قَالَ : نَهَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ عَنْ " اشْتِمَالِ الصَّمَّاءِ ، وَأَنْ يَحْتَبِيَ الرَّجُلُ فِي ثَوْبٍ وَاحِدٍ لَيْسَ عَلَى فَرْجِهِ مِنْهُ شَيْءٌ " ۔
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Saeed (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade wrapping oneself in a single sheet and that a person sits in such a way in one garment with his knees drawn up that there is no cloth covering his private parts.
