(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَامِرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا الزُّبَيْرُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، حَدَّثَنِي رُبَيْحُ بْنُ أَبِي سَعِيدٍ الْخُدْرِيِّ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، قَالَ : قُلْنَا يَوْمَ الْخَنْدَقِ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، هَلْ مِنْ شَيْءٍ نَقُولُهُ فَقَدْ بَلَغَتْ الْقُلُوبُ الْحَنَاجِرَ ؟ ، قَالَ : " نَعَمْ ، اللَّهُمَّ اسْتُرْ عَوْرَاتِنَا ، وَآمِنْ رَوْعَاتِنَا " ، قَالَ : فَضَرَبَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ وُجُوهَ أَعْدَائِهِ بِالرِّيحِ ، فَهَزَمَهُمْ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ بِالرِّيحِ .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Saeed (may Allah be pleased with him) that on the day of the Battle of the Trench, we submitted in the presence of the Messenger of Allah, "O Messenger of Allah! Our hearts have leapt up to our throats; if there is any supplication to recite, please tell us." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Yes! Recite this supplication: O Allah! Conceal our faults and replace our fear with security." After that, Allah sent a wind upon the enemies and caused them to be defeated.
