حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُصْعَبٍ , حَدَّثَنَا الْأَوْزَاعِيُّ , عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ , عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ , عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ , أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حِينَ أَرَادَ أَنْ يَنْفِرَ مِنْ مِنًى قَالَ : " نَحْنُ نَازِلُونَ غَدًا إِنْ شَاءَ اللَّهُ تَعَالَى بِالْمُحَصَّبِ ، بِخَيْفِ بَنِي كِنَانَةَ , حَيْثُ تَقَاسَمُوا عَلَى الْكُفْرِ " , وَذَاكَ أَنَّ قُرَيْشًا تَقَاسَمُوا عَلَى بَنِي هَاشِمٍ ، وَعَلَى بَنِي الْمُطَّلِبِ , أَنْ لَا يُنَاكِحُوهُمْ وَلَا يُخَالِطُوهُمْ , حَتَّى يُسَلِّمُوا إِلَيْهِمْ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) on the day after Yawm al-Nahr (the 11th of Dhul-Hijjah), while he was still in Mina, said: "Tomorrow (insha’Allah) we will camp at Khayf Bani Kinana, where the Quraysh had sworn oaths of disbelief." What was meant was the valley of Muhassab. In fact, the incident was that the Quraysh and Banu Kinana had made an agreement against Banu Hashim and Banu Abd al-Muttalib that the Quraysh and Banu Kinana would not intermarry with them nor buy or sell with them until they handed over the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) to them.
