Hadith 10962

حَدَّثَنَا كَثِيرٌ , حَدَّثَنَا جَعْفَرٌ , حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ بْنُ الْأَصَمِّ , عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ , قََالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " لَقَدْ هَمَمْتُ أَنْ آمُرَ بِالصَّلَاةِ فَتُقَامَ ، ثُمَّ أَخْرُجَ بِفِتْيَانِي مَعَهُمْ حُزَمُ الْحَطَبِ , فَأُحَرِّقَ عَلَى قَوْمٍ فِي بُيُوتِهِمْ , يَسْمَعُونَ النِّدَاءَ ثُمَّ لَا يَأْتُونَ الصَّلَاةَ " , فَسُئلَ يَزِيدُ : أَفِي الْجُمُعَةِ هَذَا أَمْ فِي غَيْرِهَا , قَالَ مَا سَمِعْتُ أَبَا هُرَيْرَةَ يَذْكُرُ جُمُعَةً وَلَا غَيْرَهَا إِلَّا هَكَذَا .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: My heart desires that I order a man and he leads the prayer, then I go out with some young men who have bundles of wood, and they go to those people who do not participate in the congregational prayer and set fire to their houses with those bundles of wood. Yazid asked whether this hadith is related to Friday prayer or some other prayer? So he replied that I heard Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrate this hadith only in this way; he did not mention Friday or anything else in it.
