Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that when Abu Talib passed away, I went to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said, "Your old and misguided uncle has died." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Go and hide him in a pit, and do not speak to anyone before coming to me." So I went and hid him in a pit. After that, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) ordered me to take a bath, and he gave me so many supplications that, compared to them, nothing vast and expansive seemed significant in my eyes.
