Hadith 10918

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Once I was walking with the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) in the garden of one of the people of Madinah, when the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: O Abu Huraira! The people who have an abundance of wealth have been ruined, except for those who distribute it with both hands, to the right, to the left, and in front, but such people are very few. After walking for a while, he said: Abu Huraira! Shall I not tell you of a treasure from the treasures of Paradise? I said: O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), why not? He said: Say, "La hawla wa la quwwata illa billah wa la malja'a min Allah illa ilayh." After walking for a while, he said: Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him), do you know what is Allah's right upon the people, and what is the people's right upon Allah? I said: Allah and His Messenger know best. The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Allah's right upon the people is that they worship Him alone and do not associate anything with Him, and when they do this, their right upon Allah is that He does not punish them. I said: Should I not inform the people of this? The Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Let them act.
