Hadith 10914

It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The people of Bani Israel used to bathe naked and would look at each other's private parts, whereas Hazrat Musa (peace be upon him), out of modesty and shyness, used to bathe alone. The people of Bani Israel began to accuse him of having a physical defect. Once, Hazrat Musa (peace be upon him) went to bathe, and as usual, took off his clothes and placed them on a stone. The stone ran away with his clothes. Hazrat Musa (peace be upon him) ran after it, saying, "O stone, my clothes! O stone, my clothes!" until the stone stopped in the midst of a gathering of Bani Israel. Hazrat Musa (peace be upon him) took his clothes from it, and the people saw Hazrat Musa (peace be upon him) and found him to be the most handsome and well-built among them. Upon seeing this, the people said, "May Allah's curse be upon those who accused Bani Israel." This was the exoneration that Allah had mentioned.
