Hadith 1087

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَبْد اللَّهِ ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ بْنُ إِسْمَاعِيلَ ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ أَبِي بُكَيْرٍ ، عَنْ إِسْرَائِيلَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْأَعْلَى ، عَنْ أَبِي عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " وَتَجْعَلُونَ رِزْقَكُمْ سورة الواقعة آية 82 ، قَالَ : شُكْرَكُمْ ، أَنَّكُمْ تُكَذِّبُونَ سورة الواقعة آية 82 ، قَالَ : تَقُولُونَ : مُطِرْنَا بِنَوْءِ كَذَا وَكَذَا " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "As for what is mentioned in the Noble Qur'an: «﴿وَتَجْعَلُونَ رِزْقَكُمْ أَنَّكُمْ تُكَذِّبُونَ﴾ [الواقعة : 82]» 'You have made this your portion, that you keep denying,' its meaning is that you say: Rain has fallen because of the rising and setting of such-and-such stars."
