(حديث موقوف) حَدَّثَنَا عَبْد اللَّهِ ، حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ نُمَيْرٍ ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مُرَّةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي الْبَخْتَرِيِّ ، عَنْ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، قَالَ : " إِذَا حُدِّثْتُمْ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حَدِيثًا فَظُنُّوا بِهِ الَّذِي هُوَ أَهْيَا ، وَالَّذِي هُوَ أَهْدَى ، وَالَّذِي هُوَ أَتْقَى " .
Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) said: When a hadith of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) is narrated before you, then think about it in the way that is upright, appropriate to it, and based on piety.
