Hadith 10779

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ بْنُ عَمْرٍو , وَسُرَيْجٌ , قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا فُلَيْحٌ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ يَعْنِي بْنَ مَعْمَرٍ وَهُوَ أَبُو طُوَالَةَ , عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ , أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " أَلَا أُخْبِرُكُمْ بِخَيْرِ النَّاسِ مَنْزِلَةً ؟ رَجُلٌ أَخَذَ بِعِنَانِ فَرَسِهِ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ ، أَلَا أُخْبِرُكُمْ بِخَيْرِ النَّاسِ مَنْزِلَةً بَعْدَهُ ؟ رَجُلٌ مُعْتَزِلٌ فِي غَنَمٍ أَوْ غُنَيْمَةٍ يُقِيمُ الصَّلَاةَ , وَيُؤْتِي الزَّكَاةَ , وَيَعْبُدُ اللَّهَ لَا يُشْرِكُ بِهِ شَيْئًا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Shall I not tell you about the best man among the creation? The companions (may Allah be pleased with them) said: Why not, O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! He said: The man who holds the reins of his horse and sets out in the way of Allah, and whenever needed, mounts it. Shall I not tell you about the one who is at the next rank after him? The companions (may Allah be pleased with them) said: Why not! He said: The man who is among his flock of goats, establishes prayer, gives zakat, worships Allah, and does not associate anyone with Him.
