حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْمَلِكِ بْنُ عَمْرٍو , وَسُرَيْجٌ , الْمَعْنَى , قَالَا : حَدَّثَنَا فُلَيْحٌ ، عَنْ هِلَالِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ , عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ يَسَارٍ , عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ , أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " مَثَلُ الْمُؤْمِنِ مَثَلُ خَامَةِ الزَّرْعِ مِنْ حَيْثُ أَتْتَهَا الرِّيحُ كَفَتْهَا ، فَإِذَا سَكَنَتْ اعْتَدَلَتْ ، وَكَذَلِكَ مَثَلُ الْمُؤْمِنِ يَتَكَفَّأُ بِالْبَلَاءِ ، وَمَثَلُ الْكَافِرِ مَثَلُ الْأَرْزَةِ صَمَّاءُ مُعْتَدِلَةٌ ، يَقْصِمُهَا اللَّهُ إِذَا شَاءَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The example of a Muslim is like that of a crop; winds keep blowing over it and keep shaking it, and calamities keep coming upon a Muslim. And the example of a hypocrite is like that of a pine tree, which does not move by itself, but is uprooted all at once.
