Hadith 10745

سَمِعْتُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ بْنَ سَعْدٍ ، يَقُولُ : أَشْهَدُ عَلَى سُفْيَانَ أَنِّي سَأَلْتُهُ , أَوْ سُئِلَ عَنِ النَّبِيذِ , فَقَالَ : " كُلْ تَمْرًا , وَاشْرَبْ مَاءً , يَصِيرُ فِي بَطْنِكَ نَبِيذًا " .
Ibrahim bin Sa’d, may Allah have mercy on him, says that I bear witness regarding Sufyan Thawri, may Allah have mercy on him, that either I or someone else asked him about nabidh. He replied: Eat dates and then drink water over it; when it enters the stomach, it will itself become nabidh.
