Hadith 1061

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، عَنْ إِسْرَائِيلَ ، وَعَلِيِّ بْنِ صَالِحٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ ، عَنْ شُرَيْحِ بْنِ النُّعْمَانِ ، عَنْ عَلِيٍّ رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ ، قَالَ : أَمَرَنَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ " نَسْتَشْرِفَ الْعَيْنَ وَالْأُذُنَ ، وَلَا نُضَحِّيَ بِشَرْقَاءَ ، وَلَا خَرْقَاءَ ، وَلَا مُقَابَلَةٍ ، وَلَا مُدَابَرَةٍ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) commanded us to carefully examine the eyes and ears of the sacrificial animal, and forbade sacrificing an animal whose ear is cut from the front or back, or has a hole in it, or is torn, or whose other body parts are cut.
