Hadith 10524

حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ ، أَخْبَرَنَا مُحَمَّدٌ ، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ , قََالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " أَوَّلُ زُمْرَةٍ تَدْخُلُ الْجَنَّةَ مِنْ أُمَّتِي عَلَى صُورَةِ الْقَمَرِ لَيْلَةَ الْبَدْرِ ، ثُمَّ الَّذِينَ يَلُونَهُمْ عَلَى أَحْسَنِ كَوْكَبٍ دُرِّيٍّ إِضَاءَةً فِي السَّمَاءِ " , فَقَامَ عُكَاشَةُ بْنُ مِحْصَنٍ , فَقَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، ادْعُ اللَّهَ أَنْ يَجْعَلَنِي مِنْهُمْ , قَالَ : " اللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْهُ مِنْهُمْ " , ثُمَّ قَامَ رَجُلٌ آخَرُ , فَقَالَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، ادْعُ اللَّهَ أَنْ يَجْعَلَنِي مِنْهُمْ ، قَالَ " قَدْ سَبَقَكَ بِهَا عُكَّاشَةُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Seventy thousand people from my Ummah will enter Paradise whose faces will shine like the moon of the fourteenth night. Hazrat Ukasha bin Mihsan (may Allah be pleased with him) stood up lifting his sheet and submitted, "O Messenger of Allah! Pray to Allah that He includes me among them." The Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) prayed, "O Allah, include him among them." Then another Ansari man stood up and made the same request, but the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Ukasha has preceded you."
