Abu Hayyah says that once I saw Sayyiduna Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) performing ablution. First, he washed and cleaned both his hands, then rinsed his mouth three times, put water into his nose three times, washed his face three times, washed his hands up to the elbows three times, wiped his head, washed both his feet including the ankles, and then took the leftover water from the ablution and drank it while standing, and said: I wanted to show you the way the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) performed ablution.
