Hadith 10443

Abu Khalid (may Allah have mercy on him) says that Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) used to lead the prayer in Madinah Munawwarah in the manner of Qais bin Abi Hazim. Once I asked Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him), "Did the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) also use to lead the prayer in this way (as you lead us)?" Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) replied, "What do you find unusual or foreign in my prayer?" I said, "This is what I wanted to ask you about." He said, "Yes, rather (the Prophet's prayer) was even shorter than this."
