It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: If I did not think that it would put hardship on the Muslims, I would never stay behind from any expedition set out in the way of Allah. But I do not have enough means to provide them with mounts, nor do they themselves possess mounts so that they could set out. I wish that I could fight in the way of Allah and attain martyrdom, then be granted life again, participate in jihad, and be martyred, then participate in jihad and be martyred again.
