Hadith 10255

حَدَّثَنَا سُرَيْجٌ ، قََالَ : حَدَّثَنَا فُلَيْحٌ ، عَنْ هِلَالِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ أَبِي عَمْرَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ , قََالَ : قََالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " ذَرُونِي مَا تَرَكْتُكُمْ ، فَإِنَّمَا أَهْلَكَ الَّذِينَ مِنْ قَبْلِكُمْ كَثْرَةُ سُؤَالِهِمْ ، وَاخْتِلَافُهُمْ عَلَى أَنْبِيَائِهِمْ ، وَلَكِنْ مَا نَهَيْتُكُمْ عَنْهُ فَانْتَهُوا ، وَمَا أَمَرْتُكُمْ بِهِ فَأْتُوا مِنْهُ مَا اسْتَطَعْتُمْ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "As long as I leave you regarding a matter, you too leave me regarding it, because the nations before you were destroyed only due to their excessive questioning and differing with their prophets. Whatever I forbid you from, abstain from it, and whatever I command you to do, do it to the best of your ability."
