حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ ، قََالَ : حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ . وَأَبُو أَحْمَدَ , قََالَ : حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنِ الْأَعْمَشِ ، عَنْ ذَكْوَانَ ، عَنِ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ , عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنَّهُ قَالَ : " لَأَنْ يَمْتَلِئَ جَوْفُ أَحَدِكُمْ قَيْحًا حَتَّى يَرِيَهُ ، خَيْرٌ لَهُ مِنْ أَنْ يَمْتَلِئَ شِعْرًا "
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: For a man's belly to be filled with pus until he is satisfied is better than for it to be filled with poetry.
