حَدَّثَنَا
وَكِيعٌ ، قََالَ : حَدَّثَنَا
الْأَعْمَشُ ، عَنِ
أَبِي صَالِحٍ , عَنِ
أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ , قََالَ : قََالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ :
" لَأَنْ يَمْتَلِئَ جَوْفُ أَحَدِكُمْ قَيْحًا حَتَّى يَرِيَهُ خَيْرٌ لَهُ ، مِنْ أَنْ يَمْتَلِئَ شِعْرًا " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: It is much better for a man's stomach to be filled with pus until he is satisfied than for it to be filled with poetry.
