Hadith 10193

حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، عَنْ يُونُسَ بْنِ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ ، عَنِ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ , قََالَ : " جَاءَ جِبْرِيلُ إِلَى النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , فَقَالَ : أَتَيْتُكَ الْبَارِحَةَ فَمَا مَنَعَنِي مِنَ الدُّخُولِ عَلَيْكَ إِلَّا كَلْبٌ كَانَ فِي الْبَيْتِ ، وَتِمْثَالُ صُورَةٍ فِي سِتْرٍ كَانَ عَلَى الْبَابِ ، قَالَ : فَنَظَرُوا ، فَإِذَا جَرْوٌ لِلْحَسَنِ أَوْ الْحُسَيْنِ كَانَ تَحْتَ نَضَدٍ لَهُمْ ، قَالَ : فَأَمَرَ بِالْكَلْبِ فَأُخْرِجَ ، وَأَنْ يُقْطَعَ رَأْسُ الصُّورَةِ حَتَّى تَكُونَ مِثْلَ الشَّجَرَةِ ، وَيُجْعَلَ السِّتْرُ مُنْتَبَذَتَيْنِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Once Hazrat Jibreel (peace be upon him) came to me and said, "I came to you last night, but something prevented me from entering your house. There was a picture of a man in the house. Actually, there was a curtain in the house on which a human image was made. Upon searching, it was found that there was a puppy under the bed of Hasan and Husain (may Allah be pleased with them). At the command of the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), it was taken out, and the head of the image was cut off so that it would become like a tree, and cushions were made from the curtain."
