Hadith 10055

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ جَعْفَرٍ , قََالَ : حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنِ أَبِي حَصِين ، قََالَ : سَمِعْتُ ذَكْوَانَ أَبَا صَالِحٍ يُحَدِّثُ ، عَنِ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ , قََالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَنْ رَآنِي فِي الْمَنَامِ فَقَدْ رَآنِي ، إِنَّ الشَّيْطَانَ لَا يَتَصَوَّرُ بِي , قَالَ شُعْبَةُ : أو قال : لَا يَتَشَبَّهُ بِي . " وَمَنْ كَذَبَ عَلَيَّ مُتَعَمِّدًا ، فَلْيَتَبَوَّأْ مَقْعَدَهُ مِنَ النَّارِ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Huraira (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: Whoever sees me in a dream should be certain that he has indeed seen me, for Satan cannot take my form or appearance. And whoever deliberately attributes a false statement to me should make his abode in Hell.
