حَدَّثَنَا إِسْحَاقُ ، قََالَ : أَخْبَرَنَا مَالِكٌ ، عَنِ أَبِي الزِّنَادِ ، عَنِ الْأَعْرَجِ ، عَنِ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ , أَنّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَالَ : " مَثَلُ الْمُجَاهِدِ فِي سَبِيلِ اللَّهِ ، كَمَثَلِ الصَّائِمِ الدَّائِمِ الْقَائِمِ الَّذِي لَا يَفْتُرُ مِنْ صِيَامٍ وَصَلَاةٍ حَتَّى يَرْجِعَ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: The example of a Mujahid who strives in the path of Allah is like that of a person who spends the night in worship and the day in fasting. He continues to receive the reward of fasting and standing in prayer as long as he does not return home with the spoils of war.
