حَدَّثَنَا عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ سَلَمَةَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ أَبِي رَوَّادٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي شَيْخٌ، مِنْ أَهْلِ الطَّائِفِ يُقَالُ لَهُ غَيْلَانُ عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَوْفٍ قَالَ: قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّم: «لَا تَغْلِبَنَّكُمُ الْأَعْرَابُ عَلَى اسْمِ صَلَاتِكُمْ فَإِنَّهَا فِي كِتَابِ اللَّهِ جَلَّ وَعَزَّ الْعِشَاءِ وَإِنَّمَا سَمَّيْتِ الْعَتْمَةُ لِإِعْتَامِ الْإِبِلِ أَحْلَابَهَا».
An old man named Ghailan from the people of Taif narrated from Sayyiduna Abdur Rahman bin Awf (may Allah be pleased with him), who said that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Let not the Bedouins overpower you regarding the name of your prayer; in the Book of Allah, it is the 'Isha prayer. Its name is 'al-Atamah' because the camels are milked late at night at the time of 'Isha due to the lateness of milking."
