Hadith 26

Ibrahim bin Sa’d narrated from his father, who narrated from his grandfather. He said: Food was placed before Abdur Rahman bin Awf (may Allah be pleased with him) one day, and he said: Mus’ab bin Umair (may Allah be pleased with him) was martyred. He was better than me, and we had nothing except a single sheet to shroud him in. And Hamza (may Allah be pleased with him) was also martyred, and there was nothing available for his shroud except a single sheet. (The narrator) doubted whether he mentioned the name of Hamza (may Allah be pleased with him) or spoke about another man who was better than me. We had nothing except a single sheet for a shroud. He said: I fear (from Allah) that we may have been given our good things in this worldly life (and that nothing remains for us in the Hereafter). Then he began to weep.
