حَدَّثَنَا يُوسُفُ بْنُ بَهْلُولٍ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ إِدْرِيسَ، عَنِ ابْنِ إِسْحَاقَ، قَالَ: حَدَّثَنِي بَعْضُ أَصْحَابِنَا عَنْ سَعْدِ بْنِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَوْفٍ، قَالَ: قَالَ أُمَيَّةُ بْنُ خَلَفٍ: يَا عَبْدَ الْإِلَهِ، مَنِ الرَّجُلُ مِنْكُمُ الْمُعَلَّمُ بِرِيشَةٍ فِي صَدْرِهِ؟ قَالَ: قُلْتُ «ذَاكَ حَمْزَةُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ» ، قَالَ: ذَاكَ الَّذِي فَعَلَ بِنَا الْأَفَاعِيلُ.
Sa’d narrated from his father Ibrahim, who narrated from Sayyiduna Abdur Rahman bin Awf (may Allah be pleased with him), who said: Umayyah bin Khalaf said: O Abd al-Ilah! Who among you has the mark of an ostrich feather on his chest? I said: Hamzah bin Abdul Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with him). He said: He is the one who has done this to us.
