It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar, may Allah be pleased with them both, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, had a ring made of gold and wore it for three days, so the noble Companions, may Allah be pleased with them, also had rings made and wore them. He then took it off and had a ring made of silver and had «محمد رسول اللہ» engraved on it. This ring remained with him until he passed away. Then it remained with Abu Bakr, may Allah be pleased with him, until he passed away. Then it remained with Umar, may Allah be pleased with him, until he passed away. Then it remained with Uthman, may Allah be pleased with him, for six years. Then he gave it to an Ansari man until it fell into the (Arees) well. It was searched for but not found, so Uthman, may Allah be pleased with him, had a similar ring made and had «محمد رسول اللہ صلی اللہ علیہ وسلم» engraved on it.
