Hadith 62
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ بْنِ سِنَانٍ، حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو سَلَمَةَ، وَنَافِعٌ، أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عُمَرَ أَخْبَرَهُمَا، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، يَقُولُ : " صَلاةُ اللَّيْلِ رَكْعَتَيْنِ رَكْعَتَيْنِ، فَإِنْ خِفْتَ الصُّبْحَ، فَأَوْتِرْ بِوَاحِدَةٍ " .
Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrated that he heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) saying: "The night prayer is offered in pairs of two rak'ahs. When you fear the approach of dawn, then pray one rak'ah as witr."
