Hadith 33
حَدَّثَنَا الْحُسَيْنُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا خُوَيْلِدٌ، عَنْ أَيُّوبَ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، أَنَّ أَعْرَابِيًّا نَادَى النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : مَا يَقْتُلُ الْمُحْرِمُ مِنَ الدَّوَابِّ ؟ فَقَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " يَقْتُلُ الْغُرَابَ، وَالْحِدَأَةَ، وَالْفَأْرَةَ، وَالْكَلْبَ الْعَقُورَ، وَالْعَقْرَبَ "، فَقُلْتُ لِنَافِعٍ : فَالْحَيَّاتُ ؟ قَالَ : لا يُخْتَلَفُ فِيهِنَّ .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them), a Bedouin asked the Noble Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him): Which animals can a person in Ihram kill? The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) replied: "He may kill the crow, the kite, the mouse, the biting dog, and the scorpion." Ayyub says: I asked Nafi‘ (may Allah have mercy on him) about snakes, so he said: There is no difference of opinion regarding killing them.
