Hadith 21
حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ يَزِيدَ بْنِ سِنَانٍ، حَدَّثَنَا يَزِيدُ، قَالَ : قَالَ عَطَاءٌ : أَخْبَرَنِي عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ عُمَرَ، قَالَ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، يَقُولُ : " النَّمِيمَةُ، وَالشَّتِيمَةُ، وَالْحَمِيَّةُ فِي النَّارِ، فَلا يَجْتَمِعَانِ فِي صَدْرِ مُؤْمِنٍ " .
Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates: I heard the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) saying, "Tale-bearing, abusive language, and (ignorant) zealotry will lead to Hell, and these two things cannot be combined in the heart of a believer."
