Hadith 81

حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحُ بْنُ عُبَادَةَ، عَنِ ابْنِ جُرَيْجٍ، قَالَ : بَلَغَنِي عَنْ نَافِعٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، " أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ، كَانَ يَنْحَرُ يَوْمَ الأَضْحَى بِالْمَدِينَةِ، وَكَانَ إِذَا لَمْ يَنْحَرْ يَذْبَحُ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abdullah bin Umar, may Allah be pleased with them both, that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, would perform the sacrifice (of a camel) in Madinah on the day of Eid al-Adha, and when he did not sacrifice a camel, he would slaughter (a sheep or goat).
