Hadith 57

حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ سَابِقٍ، حَدَّثَنَا عَاصِمٌ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، قَالَ : كَانَ ابْنُ عُمَرَ إِذَا كَانَ فِي السَّفَرِ فِي اللَّيْلَةِ الْبَارِدَةِ أَوِ اللَّيْلَةِ الْمَطِيرَةِ، فَيُنَادِي بِالصَّلاةِ صَلاةِ الْعِشَاءِ، ثُمَّ يُنَادِي : أَلا صَلُّوا فِي رِحَالِكُمْ، فَإِنِّي رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَصْنَعُ ذَلِكَ فِي اللَّيْلَةِ الْبَارِدَةِ، وَاللَّيْلَةِ الْمَطِيرَةِ " .
Nafi’ (may Allah have mercy on him) narrated: Abdullah bin Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both), when he was on a journey on a cold or rainy night and gave the call to prayer for ‘Isha, would say: “Pray in your dwellings.” Indeed, I have seen the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) do the same on a cold and rainy night.
