Hadith 289
أنا الأَوْزَاعِيُّ، أَنا الزُّهْرِيُّ، أَنا أَبُو سَلَمَةَ بْنُ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَا مِنْ وَالٍ وَلا أَمِيرٍ إِلا لَهُ بِطَانَتَانِ، بِطَانَةٌ تَأْمُرُهُ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ وَتَنْهَى عَنِ الْمُنْكَرِ، وَبِطَانَةٌ لا تَأْلُوهُ خَبَالا، فَمَنْ وُقِيَ شَرَّهَا فَقَدْ وُقِيَ، وَهُوَ لِلَّذِي يَغْلِبُ مِنْهُمَا " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him, who said that the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Whoever is a ruler or leader, he will certainly have two confidants: one confidant who commands him to do good and forbids him from evil, and (the other) confidant who does not refrain from causing him any harm. Whoever is protected from his evil, indeed he is protected, and he is the one who prevails over both of them."
