Hadith 273
وَقَالَ ابْنُ الْحَنَفِيَّةِ: ((لَوْ أَنَّ النَّاسَ تَابَعُونِي إِلَّا رَجُلٌ لَمْ يُسَدَّدْ سُلْطَانِي إِلَّا بِهِ مَا قَتَلْتُهُ))
And Ibn Hanifah, may Allah have mercy on him, said: If indeed all the people give me allegiance, except for one man, and my authority would not be established without him, then I would not accept this (allegiance).
