Hadith 264
قَالَ الْحَسَنُ : فَقَدْ وَاللَّهِ الَّذِي لا إِلَهَ إِلا هُوَ، رَأَيْنَاهُمْ صُوَرًا وَلا عُقُولَ، وَأَجْسَامًا وَلا أَحْلامَ، فِرَاشَ نَارٍ، وَذِبَّانَ طَمَعٍ، يَغْدُونَ بِدِرْهَمَيْنِ، وَيَرُوحُونَ بِدِرْهَمَيْنِ، يَبِيعُ أَحَدُهُمْ دِينَهُ بِثَمَنِ عَنْز .
Hasan said: By Allah, besides whom there is no deity worthy of worship, we have seen them: they have forms but no intellect, bodies but no understanding or awareness. They are like moths of the fire, flies of greed and desire. In the morning they go out with two dirhams and return with two dirhams. One of them sells his religion for the price of a goat.
