Hadith 257
أنا هِشَامُ بْنُ حَسَّانَ، عَنِ الْحَسَنِ، عَنْ ضَبَّةَ بْنِ مِحْصَنٍ، عَنْ أُمِّ سَلَمَةَ، قَالَتْ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " يَكُونُ عَلَيْكُمْ أَئِمَّةٌ فَتَعْرِفُونَ حَقَّهُمْ وَتُنْكِرُونَ، فَمَنْ أَنْكَرَ فَقَدْ نَجَا، وَمَنْ كَرِهَ فَقَدْ سَلِمَ، وَلَكِنْ مَنْ رَضِيَ وَتَابَعَ "، قَالَ : فَقِيلَ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ، أَلا نُقَاتِلُهُمْ ؟ قَالَ : " لا، مَا صَلَّوْا " .
It is narrated from Sayyida Umm Salama (may Allah be pleased with her), she said that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "There will be rulers over you who will recognize their own rights but deny your rights. Whoever rejects them has certainly attained salvation, and whoever dislikes them is indeed safe, but whoever is pleased with them and follows them..." It was asked: O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! Should we not fight them? He said: "No, as long as they establish the prayer."
