Hadith 256
أنا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سُوقَةَ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ دِينَارٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عُمَرَ، أَنَّ عُمَرَ بْنَ الْخَطَّابِ خَطَبَ بِالْجَابِيَةِ، فَقَالَ : قَامَ فِينَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قِيَامِي فِيكُمْ، فَقَالَ : " اسْتَوْصُوا بِأَصْحَابِي خَيْرًا، ثُمَّ الَّذِينَ يَلُونَهُمْ، ثُمَّ الَّذِينَ يَلُونَهُمْ، ثُمَّ يَفْشُو الْكَذِبُ حَتَّى إِنَّ الرَّجُلَ لَيَسْبِقُ بِالشَّهَادَةِ قَبْلَ أَنْ يُسْأَلَهَا فَمَنْ أَرَادَ مِنْكُمْ بُحْبُوحَةَ الْجَنَّةِ فَلْيَلْزَمِ الْجَمَاعَةَ، فَإِنَّ الشَّيْطَانَ مَعَ الْوَاحِدِ وَهُوَ مِنَ الاثْنَيْنِ أَبْعَدُ، وَلا يَخْلُوَنَّ أَحَدُكُمْ بِامْرَأَةٍ فَإِنَّ الشَّيْطَانَ ثَالِثُهُمَا، وَمَنْ سَرَّتْهُ حَسَنَتُهُ، وَسَاءَتْهُ سَيِّئَتُهُ فَهُوَ مُؤْمِنٌ " .
Sayyiduna Ibn Umar (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrated: Umar bin Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) delivered a sermon at Jabiyah (a place) and said: Among us, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) stood up just as I am standing among you, and he (peace be upon him) said: “Accept my advice of goodness regarding my Companions (may Allah be pleased with them), then regarding those who will come after them, then regarding those who will come after them. Then falsehood will become widespread, to the extent that a man will begin to give testimony before he is asked for it, and will begin to swear an oath before it is demanded from him. Whoever among you desires the middle of Paradise, let him adhere to the congregation, for indeed, Satan is with the one who is alone, and he is farther from two. And none of you is ever alone with a woman except that Satan is the third among them. And whoever is pleased by his good deed and displeased by his sin, then he is a believer.”
