Hadith 244
عَنْ عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ طَاوُسٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ : " كُنَّا نَحْفَظُ الْحَدِيثَ، وَالْحَدِيثُ يُحْفَظُ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حَتَّى رَكِبْتُمْ فِيهِ الصَّعْبَةَ وَالذَّلُولَةَ " .
Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: We used to memorize hadith, and the hadith of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) continued to be remembered, until they (the Companions, may Allah be pleased with them) faced every hardship for its sake and overcame it.
